SUMMER QURAN INTENSIVE

Started in 2022, Sacred Learning Center’s Summer Quran Intensive has attracted both beginners to the Quran as well as those well-versed who want to increase their Quran proficiency during a short period of time. Taught by qualified ulama (scholars) and huffaz (those who memorized the entire Quran), the Summer Quran Intensive aims to work on three primary facets: Fluent Quranic recitation (tilawah), the art of Quranic recitiation (tajweed), and Quranic memorization (hifz). We are pleased to enter our third year of the program and are excited to work with all of our students!

This summer program will run from after Eid al-Adha until mid-August. The dates are June 24th until August 9th. This will include a break for the 4th of July.

We will have two sessions this summer: morning and afternoon. The timings will vary slightly on Fridays due to Jumuah prayer.

Morning

Monday-Thursday: 9:00am to 12:00pm
Friday: 9:00am to 11:00am

Afternoon

Monday-Thursday: 2:00pm to 5:00pm
Friday: 3:00pm to 5:00 pm

Our Summer Quran Intensive focuses on three major aspects of Quran and the basics of Islamic knowledge. We will be covering fluent Quranic recitation (tilawah), the art of Quranic recitation (tajweed), and Quranic memorization (hifz). For Islamic studies, students will cover the basics of Islam (acts of worship), iman (belief), and ihsan (spritual refinement/good character).

The fees for this summer are $600 per child, which will be divided into two $300 payments. One is given at the time of registration to secure your spot, and the second is given halfway through the program. There are no discounts given for multiple children from the same family.

Registration is open to all members of the local community. By receiving a spot for the summer, you are not guaranteed admittance into the afterschool maktab program. However, after inviting our previously enrolled students, priority will be given to those locals who attended the summer program.

Registration for this program is on a first-come, first-served basis. Designed for children aged 7-13, the program has 18 spots for boys and 18 spots for girls in the morning and 12 spots for boys in the afternoon. There will not be a girls’ session in the afternoon. Registration will go live on Wednesday, May 8th, 2024 at 11:00am. We will closing sessions as the program fills up. Registration will close once we have no more available spaces. You will need the following documents:

  • Each child’s most recent report card
  • Each child’s birth certificate

Important note: Since this program is meant for locals (those who regularly attend the Sacred Learning Center, we reserve the right to cancel the registration of anyone not local to the Sacred Learning center (roughly 2 miles radius). If your registration is canceled, you will receive a full refund.
