Ramadan 2022
Thursday, April 21st (Maghrib) to Saturday, April 30th (Maghrib) [tentative]
Sacred Learning Center
Itikaf involves secluding oneself in the masjid during the last 10 days and nights of Ramadan, as was the annual habit of the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace). During this time, attendees devote themselves to worship and learning, and seeking forgiveness for past shortcomings. A major benefit of spending the last 10 days in the masjid, is the high likelihood of catching Laylatul Qadr (the Night of Power), which is a night of worship more valuable than a thousand months.
The itikaf begins on the 21st night of Ramadan and continues until its end. The Prophetic sunnah is to remain in the masjid during the entire 10-day period; however, shorter stays can also be beneficial. In order to ensure the best possible experience for our attendees, we limit attendance to 75 individuals on any given night. Preference is given to those who commit to spending the entire 10 days, and then 9 days, and then 8 days, etc., until our maximum limit is reached.
This program is for brothers only. Sisters are encouraged to perform itikaf in a prayer area of their homes – spending as much time as possible engaged in worship, learning, and reflection.
Cost: Free of Charge
